Meet Marilyn
Hello there, I’m Marilyn, a Singaporean living in Japan since 2019. I currently co-run a countryside Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Hokkaido.
In 2009, I started my career in the real estate industry in Singapore where I developed a strong understanding of the different types of property and how spaces are presented. I’ve somehow always been drawn to interior design and thoughtfully designed spaces — from homes to retail environments.
Living and working in a different environment and being involved in both the design and daily operations has given me a deeper appreciation for how people experience spaces and services.
It has also shaped how I see things, and that perspective continues to influence how I approach my work — I’m drawn to creating work that captures a story with clarity and structure.

How It All Started
Moving to Hokkaido marked the beginning of my journey in hospitality.
While co-running a countryside B&B, I was involved in various aspect of the business, taking a hands-on approach. That is how my journey into web design started.
Through this experience, I recognised the role a website plays in shaping first impressions — where clarity, structure, and presentation not only influence perception but also determine how effectively a business generates enquiries and bookings.
